Founded on August 1, 1964, KB-TK 'Aisyiyah Nitikan has a long history of providing quality early childhood education. Situated in Sorogenen Street Number 25, Sorosutan, Yogyakarta, this institution operates under the management of PRA Nitikan, ensuring that it upholds strong Islamic and educational values. Over the years, the school has expanded its facilities and curriculum, gaining recognition for its commitment to holistic child development.

It proudly holds an accreditation of "A", a testament to its high standards in teaching, learning, and administration. The school is managed by experienced educators, including Hening Setiyawati, S. Ag (for Kelompok Bermain) and Siti Zuchroh, S. Ag (for TK), who lead a dedicated team of teachers and staff passionate about early childhood education.

The school aims to instill intellectual curiosity, moral integrity, self-reliance, and a deep respect for Islamic and local cultural values.

Mission

To achieve this vision, TK 'Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Nitikan is committed to:

  1. Developing good habits through Islamic learning, ensuring that students uphold religious values in their daily lives.

  2. Nurturing multiple intelligences, including spiritual, intellectual, emotional, kinesthetic, and social intelligence, by designing lessons that align with students' developmental stages and unique learning needs.

  3. Encouraging joyful learning, fostering a fun and engaging educational environment where children develop their full potential through play-based activities.

  4. Promoting physical and psychological well-being, through sports activities, nutritious meals, health check-ups, and consultation services, ensuring students grow up healthy and active.

  4. Create a conducive learning environment, where children grow into intelligent, healthy, cheerful, and independent individuals.

  5. Instill cultural appreciation, by nurturing students who take pride in Yogyakarta, love their heritage, and practice tolerance and respect for others.

1.2 Academic Support System

The academic support system at KB-TK 'Aisyiyah Nitikan is designed to create a well-rounded educational experience that balances academic knowledge, character development, and life skills.

One of the school's standout programs is the TAA (Children's Foster Care) program, which provides extended learning opportunities beyond regular school hours. This initiative caters to families who need additional childcare support while ensuring that children continue to engage in meaningful learning activities. TAA offers two service options: (1) Half-Day Care: Until 2:00 PM, and (2) Full-Day Care: Until 4:00 PM.

 

Through TAA, children receive additional enrichment programs that complement their classroom learning, helping them develop independence, social skills, and confidence.

1.3 Teaching System

The school implements a five-day school system from Monday to Friday, with learning activities running from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM. What makes KB-TK 'Aisyiyah Nitikan unique is its child-centered approach, which integrates Islamic teachings, academic subjects, and hands-on learning experiences. The daily schedule is thoughtfully structured to provide a balance between routine, active play, and guided instruction.

 

Daily Schedule:

  • 07:00 - 07:30 AM: Morning preparation and student arrival

  • 07:30 - 08:00 AM: Morning activities (Flag Ceremony on Mondays, Morning Gymnastics and Guided Play from Tuesday to Friday)

  • 08:00 - 08:30 AM: Unveiling (Introduction to the day's lessons)

  • 08:30 - 09:00 AM: AIK and Dhuha Prayer

  • 09:00 - 10:00 AM: Core Learning Activities

  • 10:00 - 10:30 AM: Free play and break time

  • 10:30 - 11:00 AM: Final activities (snack time, reflections, and closing session)

1.4 Materials and Other Learning Sources

At KB-TK 'Aisyiyah Nitikan, learning is not confined to textbooks. The school uses a variety of resources, including storybooks, sensory materials, educational toys, digital learning materials, and interactive media to create dynamic and engaging lessons. These resources help children explore literacy, mathematics, science, technology, engineering, and the arts in a way that feels natural and exciting.

A significant emphasis is placed on cultural education, with students learning about local traditions, Yogyakarta’s rich heritage, and the importance of preserving their identity. Alongside this, Islamic teachings are integrated into their learning, instilling moral values, spiritual growth, and a deeper understanding of their faith. This approach not only strengthens their appreciation for their culture and religion but also fosters a sense of belonging and pride in their community.

1.5 Measurement and Evaluation System

Assessment at KB-TK 'Aisyiyah Nitikan goes beyond grades and traditional testing. Instead, the school employs a performance-based or project evaluation system that tracks children's growth across various domains:

(a) Cognitive development, (b) Emotional and social skills, and (c) Physical and motor skills.

Teachers use projects, observational assessments, and interactive activities to monitor progress, ensuring that each child is supported in their unique learning journey. Regular parent-teacher consultations allow families to stay informed and involved in their child’s development.

1.6 Curriculum

The curriculum at KB-TK 'Aisyiyah Nitikan is carefully designed to nurture intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. It includes:

Intracurricular Learning

Extracurricular Activities

Students have access to a wide range of extracurricular activities that cater to their diverse interests and talents. These include:

  • Mandatory Activities (included in tuition fees): Quran Recitation (BAQ), Painting, and Dance.

  • Optional Activities (with additional fees): Tapak Suci (martial arts), Marching Band, Online Tahfidz (Quran Memorization), Angklung, and Jarimatika (mental arithmetic).

  • Special Activities: Swimming sessions, which support physical development and water safety skills.
