TEACHING PLAN
3.1 Curriculum
The curriculum of TK 'Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Nitikan is designed to provide a holistic, well-rounded education that aligns with the school’s vision of forming children who are Smart, Cheerful, Healthy, Independent, Islamic, and Cultured. Grounded in Islamic teachings, academic fundamentals, character development, and life skills, the curriculum follows the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes student-centered learning, flexibility, and differentiated instruction to ensure that children actively engage in meaningful educational experiences that align with their developmental needs, interests, and future aspirations.
To fulfill its mission, the school integrates three key learning components that cater to students’ spiritual, intellectual, emotional, kinesthetic, and social development while nurturing their potential in a joyful, educational, and fun play environment.
Intracurricular Learning
As the foundation of the curriculum, intracurricular learning focuses on religious and ethical values, literacy, mathematics, science, technology, engineering, and art (STEAM). Lessons are carefully structured to align with students’ developmental stages and learning achievements, ensuring a progressive introduction of concepts that build a strong academic foundation while fostering critical thinking and moral values. Embedded in this component is the mission of developing good habits through Islamic learning, with an emphasis on daily prayers, Qur’anic recitation, and ethical behavior to shape students’ spiritual discipline and character.
Co-Curricular Learning
To enhance students’ social, emotional, and personal growth, co-curricular activities reinforce the Pancasila Student Profile, embedding the 7 Great Indonesian Children’s Habits into daily routines. These habits—waking up early, performing daily worship, engaging in physical exercise, consuming nutritious food, cultivating a love for learning, fostering positive social interactions, and maintaining a balanced sleep schedule—align with the school’s goal of preparing students to be physically and psychologically healthy through sports activities, nutritious meals, health check-ups, and consultation services. By promoting self-discipline, responsibility, and respect, this learning component prepares students to become independent individuals who are beneficial to themselves and others.
Extracurricular Learning
Beyond academics, extracurricular activities allow students to explore their talents and creativity, fostering a love for learning in a supportive and engaging environment. The school offers a wide range of activities, including Qur’anic recitation (BAQ), painting, dance, martial arts (Tapak Suci), marching band, Angklung (a traditional Indonesian musical instrument), and Jarimatika (a finger arithmetic method). These activities support the school’s goal of preparing a conducive learning environment that enables students to grow into intelligent, healthy, cheerful, and independent individuals while fostering teamwork, perseverance, and cultural appreciation. Additionally, by exposing children to local arts and traditions, the school nurtures their interest in preserving cultural heritage, in line with its mission of fostering students' appreciation for Yogyakarta’s rich traditions.
Student-Centered Learning and Flexibility
In alignment with the Merdeka Curriculum, TK 'Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Nitikan ensures flexibility in learning by allowing students to choose activities that align with their interests and strengths while maintaining structured lesson plans. This approach keeps students actively engaged, motivated, and capable of deeper conceptual understanding, fulfilling the school’s goal of developing students with sharp thinking skills, agility, and ease in understanding concepts. Differentiated instruction is also applied to cater to diverse learning styles and needs, ensuring that every child receives the necessary support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
